Kotori Ryuuzaki

So this is a long overdue redo of my best character.  My absolute favourite character that I have designed.  I am being serious here, out of every character I've ever made this one is number one, standing at the pinnacle as the absolute best I believe I have to offer.  Last time I drew her I copped out and drew her wearing her girlfriend's clothes, but this time I decided to just go ahead and draw the kimono (even if I did edit the design a bit to make it somewhat simpler and easier to draw )... And I think it turned out really good.  I was a bit worried about the more dynamic pose but again, I am really, really proud of this one (so naturally no-one is going to pay much attention to it D: ).  Anyways...

So yeah, Ryuuzaki here (she thinks her first name is embarrassing so she doesn't like being called by it) is from a long line of Japanese demon hunters, and... Well, she hunts demons.  Her family recently moved to the north of England for reasons however and she's had to adapt, which was made a bit easier by her burgeoning relationship with one Penny Drake.  And... Um, yeah.  Before the move, she was so focused on her training that she kind of didn't develop socially all that well and suffers a little academically, but she's probably one of the best swordfighters out of all my characters (and this is without being some non-human demon-y person too).  Penny has been a great help in improving her social skills, and whilst romance had been the last thing Ryuuzaki would've thought of in Japan, she eventually grew rather fond of the English girl and... Well, I did say Penny was her girlfriend, right?

Ryuuzaki is actually the cousin of another of my characters, Nadeshiko Kazamatsuri.  In a way they're somewhat similar, both being socially awkward and absorbed in their craft, but whilst Ryuuzaki is a stoic (well, she tries to be, but she's easily flustered) swordswoman, Nadeshiko is an overly perverted hentai artist.  The two actually get on surprisingly well though, even if Nadeshiko is a bit annoyed that she's shorter and less filled out than her cousin.

This is kind of a babble since I really like the character and thus naturally find it hard to actually talk about her whilst trying to hold back the gushing. I think I summed her up pretty well the first time I drew her though, so... More info here I guess.

Original lineart and base colours by me, lineart fixups by .  I don't draw her often, because since she's my favourite OC I kind of have way too high standards for art of her and... It kind of dissuades me from attempting to draw her since I'm too worried I'd screw up. But I really like how she turned out this time so yeah.
